Abstract
This panel will provide insights into current funding initiatives that support Big Data projects, in the wake of the White House commitment to devote $200 million to Big Data research. Participants in Digging into Data, an international Big Data initiative, will describe their research. The panel will then trigger an audience‐discussion on the tools, techniques, and theories that LIS can bring to Big Data research and the role that the LIS discipline should play in this new era.
